Counsel's Practice
Dato’ M. David Morais is among the most experienced counsel at the Malaysian Bar. His career is entirely focused on advocacy, both in court and in arbitration. David appears in virtually every area of the law but primarily focuses on commercial, corporate and banking disputes. Many of his cases develop the law and establish significant precedent.
The practice is independent and usually instructed by solicitors and corporate counsel. David also sits as arbitrator in local and international arbitrations
Evolution and Progress
1 January 2025 David entered into partnership with Ms Pavitra Pillai in recognition of her outstanding ability and her integral role in the practice. Pavitra is David’s first partner. She occupies second chair in all major instructions and has a burgeoning practice in her own right
Team
David and Pavitra are supported by Ms Sara Jailany, a first class legal mind. She is the backbone of research and keeps the practice ahead. David, Pavitra and Sara work as a tight, efficient unit. They dig deep into the evidence, settle pleadings and prepare all submissions.
